Since reopening June 15, 2020 here are the things I am doing for the safety of us all.  I ask that we work together to keep everyone safe!

There have been some new precautions implemented to insure a safe and healthy environment for you to receive a massage in. These new precautions are necessary for everyone’s safety and will be strictly enforced. Please review the following steps.

ALL CLIENTS MUST COMPLETE A NEW HEALTH HISTORY FORM PRIOR TO YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT! This new health history questionnaire has the COVID-19 Health questionnaire and liability form.  I will go over the COVID questionnaire verbally with you prior to each appointment. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE fill out this form NOW by clicking here!  I am trying to limit client overlap in the waiting area so PLEASE UPDATE YOUR HEALTH HISTORY NOW. If for some reason you need help with the forms, then please let me know ahead of time. Please understand if you are late, I may not be able to give you your full massage time. Call ahead if you are going to be late and we will discuss.

The CDC now requires that both the client and the therapist wear a mask. To protect us all, you will need to wear a mask in the office and during your massage session. This is now required until further notice. I will also be wearing a mask, goggles, and a new scrub top for each client. If you forget your mask, I have some disposable ones in the office for a $1.00 fee.

Until we have a vaccine, I will not be doing certain services that involve a lot of attention to the face such as facial treatments or facial cupping until further notice.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment and wait in the atrium and I will come and take your temperature with a contactless thermometer prior to bringing you into the office. If you have a fever of 100 degrees or above, you will be asked to reschedule. I will also take my own temperature before each shift. The office door will be locked in between appointments to help ensure social distancing and limit client overlap in the office. After I take your temp, you will be asked to wash your hands with the hand sanitizer I provide, or your own before entering and after your session in the massage room to limit cross-contamination.

All payments, scheduling appointments, before and after care discussions will be done in the treatment room from now on, not the reception area. After you get dressed just open the door a crack and wait for me to come back in. Again, this is to minimize the number of people in our common areas.

Things I am doing in addition to my regular sanitizing protocols for my office to ensure your safety:

  • I have invested in an air purifier, with a UV light sanitizer to help filter any possible bacteria or viruses.
  • I have added more time between clients to clean every surface the client or therapist touches and allow for the air in the room to clear out in between clients.
  • I will use disposable face cradle covers and disposable towels on each client. Each client gets a new blanket or sheets to cover up with as always.
  • Sheets will continue to be laundered in a professional cleaning facility.
  • Each surface that the client or therapist touches in the treatment room, bathroom, and reception area will be disinfected with a hospital-grade or EPA approved disinfectant for COVID-19.
  • I will wear masks, goggles, fresh scrubs, and gloves for each client.

Anyone who has not been feeling well within the last 14 days, prior to your appointment should not schedule an appointment. Meaning if you have a cough, trouble breathing, persistent headache, chills, fever of 100 degrees or above, muscle aches, runny nose, sore throat, loss of smell and taste, stomach issues, extreme fatigue or any other symptom of feeling sick even if you think its “allergies” please consult with a Doctor to rule out COVID-19 and reschedule your appointment for when you’re feeling better.

If you are around anyone who has been infected in the last 14 days prior to your appointment, have visited hospitals, or nursing homes, please let me know and we will reschedule.

If you have been exposed or infected, I cannot work on you. I have a 24-hour cancelation policy so please call me as soon as you experience symptoms.

If you are elderly or immune-compromised or are on immune suppressant drugs, are diabetic, have heart or lung disease, or pregnant, this may not the time for you to receive a massage, please consult with your physician for advice prior to your appointment. The CDC says these conditions put you at a higher risk of getting COVID-19.

If you decide to get bodywork it is your choice. Sha Zen Massage and the massage therapists that work on you are not responsible or liable for your choices. As always, I will do everything I can to make sure my office is thoroughly sanitized before and after each massage. Even with all the precautions we take, nobody is completely safe from this virus so please follow the recommended guidelines.

Please follow Sha Zen Massage on social media FB, Instagram, and Twitter for future announcements.

Warm Regards,

Shannon
